Hounded takes place in a post-apocalyptic society that has been transformed by multiple pandemics. Most people spend as much time as possible in VR rather than the Real. The main character is a genetically modified dog with enhanced intelligence, who gets access to VR and appears as a human, rather than as a dog.  He has a secret dual identity, working as a K-9 in the Real and as a homicide investigator in VR.
